The challenge
The brand was buying tools and starting projects faster than it could evaluate them. Decisions about vendors, build-versus-buy, and budget were being made without senior technical judgment.
What we did
- Took ownership of the AI roadmap on a part-time basis, setting what to build and what to cut each week.
- Reviewed vendor and architecture choices and unblocked the harder calls.
- Built a hiring plan for the eventual permanent AI lead.
The outcome
AI decisions gained a single accountable owner, spend was pointed at a short list of real bets, and the founder had a credible plan to hire the permanent role.
